solar boat- kastek kebangsaan 2011: dalam ketenangan ada kekalutan

assalammualaikum =)

19-22 sept 2011, sy mengiringi 3 pelajar SBPISB ke pertandingan KASTEK PERINGKAT KEBANGSAAN 2011 yang berlansung di sepang. raida, zakwan dan naim akan mewakili negeri selangor dlm kategori solar boat. eeeee sy tak reti arr nak cerita secara formal. sy guna ayat sempoi je ya.
  • hari pertama - pendaftaran.
  • hari kedua - penyediaan rekabentuk bot (4jam) dan penyediaan power point (4jam).
  • hari ketiga - presentation dan race (part paling best)
  • hari keempat - majlis penutupan dan penyampaian hadiah.
sepanjang pertandingan berlansung, guru pengiring hanya melangut. saya? mujur ada teman: ipad dan s95 haha...
jom tgk gambar ya. AMARAN: ini blog saya so gambar sy yg paling byk ditempek di sini berbanding gambar peserta lalalala....

hari pertama: penyediaan rekabentuk solar boat di makmal kimia.

inilah hasilnya. paling kemas ok. serius. sila percaya :D

hari kedua: kena kuarantin sebelum presentation. teacher azimah joint lepak dlm bilik kuarantin hehe.. mujur tgn teacher ni sgt bertuah cabut undi dpt giliran nom 1 so stress cpt hilang. selebihnya adalah keboringan menanti bila peserta lain nak habis present.

sian diorang boring, bg arr main ipad2 ni. teacher buat apa? tido hahaha...

hari ketiga- sblm race raida tlg snap gambar teacher azimah ya :D

steady jer raida ni. dia nampak tenang jer. tapi hakikat nya, kalut! hahaha...ok rilex rilex..
mujur air dalam track ni tak tumpah dek kerana kekalutan dia :p

sepatutnya ada 3 saringan utk race ni. then the best 8 masuk separuh akhir dan the best 4 for final. tapi kuasa tuhan tiada yg dapat menghalang. blm sempat habis saringan kedua, hari mendung dan hujan turun dgn lebat. takde solar so boat tak jalan.

ni bergambar selepas hujan, tapi mendung masih tebal, solar tetap xde.

nak dijadikan cerita, hakim telah display markah rekabentuk dan powerpoint (70%) ketika ini. so kami semua target boleh dpt johan. semua dah mula ceria sbb race yg sekali td pun not bad kelajuan nya. apapun keputusan hakim adalah uktamad.

petang hari ke-3, bawak diorang main bowling kat alamanda utk release stress. teacher azimah release gian dah lama tak main bowling ni haha.. the best part is teacher menang dua2 game lalala...( wei korang sengaja bg teacher menang ya??)

apsal lar suka sgt gaya cekak pinggang ni???

dah hari keempat. hati yg mulanya tenang kini menjadi kalut semula. betul ke blh dpt johan ni? teacher pun berdebar sama. nak mengisi masa boring menanti vip dtg, jom snap gambo lg :D

sgt obvious mata yg bengkak itu huhu

akhirnya dpt jgk mereka naik ke pentas. alhamdulillah NAIB JOHAN milik kami yeah!! org lain naik pentas senyum lebar wlupun dpt tmpt ke-3, diorang ni masam je muka haha...sbb target johan ok.

kat sinilah peranan guru pengiring ni chewahhh.. bg diorang +ve semula dan terima hakikat sbnr. (dlm hati teacher..kecewanya tuhan jer yg tahu huhu... control control..)

terima kasih buat semua yang membantu dan mendoakan kejayaan kami. 1st time joint terus dpt naib johan peringkat kebangsaan, not bad tau hahaha. a BIG congrats dr teacher buat kamu bertiga. simpan kenangan kita 4 hari di sini untuk diceritakan pd cucu cicit kamu kelak ok. tp yg tak bestnya, guru pengiring tak dpt sijil pun, piala jauh sekali huhu...

p/s epal merah dan epal hijau yg kita dpt tiap hari tu not bad jugak rasanya kan? dah smpi rumah br teacher makan hehe..

science talk

assalammualaikum =)

13 jun 2011 baru2 ni, sy tlh menghadiri science talk: voyages of scientific discovery with mars exploration rovers by Dr. William J.Clancey di Sek Sultan Alam Shah (SAS) Putrajaya. emmm mcm mana nak cerita ya. wlupun ke sana dgn bas sekolah yg masa ni econ tgh rosak, tp sy rasa cukup berbaloi dpt attend talk ni. serius best! extra science knowledge utk sy, teacher yani and 12 pelajar yg turut ke sana.

ok sy paste kat sini overview mengenai rovers ni yg sy amik dr website dia: (baca tau. good information ni...bg yg berminat lar hehe)

NASA's twin robot geologists, the Mars Exploration Rovers, launched toward Mars on June 10 and July 7, 2003, in search of answers about the history of water on Mars. They landed on Mars January 3 and January 24 PST, 2004 (January 4 and January 25 UTC, 2004).

The Mars Exploration Rover mission is part of NASA's Mars Exploration Program, a long-term effort of robotic exploration of the red planet.

Primary among the mission's scientific goals is to search for and characterize a wide range of rocks and soils that hold clues to past water activity on Mars. The spacecraft are targeted to sites on opposite sides of Mars that appear to have been affected by liquid water in the past. The landing sites are at Gusev Crater, a possible former lake in a giant impact crater, and Meridiani Planum, where mineral deposits (hematite) suggest Mars had a wet past.

After the airbag-protected landing craft settled onto the surface and opened, the rovers rolled out to take panoramic images. These images give scientists the information they need to select promising geological targets that tell part of the story of water in Mars' past. Then, the rovers drive to those locations to perform on-site scientific investigations.

These are the primary science instruments carried by the rovers:

  • Panoramic Camera (Pancam): for determining the mineralogy, texture, and structure of the local terrain.

  • Miniature Thermal Emission Spectrometer (Mini-TES): for identifying promising rocks and soils for closer examination and for determining the processes that formed Martian rocks. The instrument is designed to look skyward to provide temperature profiles of the Martian atmosphere.

  • Mössbauer Spectrometer (MB): for close-up investigations of the mineralogy of iron-bearing rocks and soils.

  • Alpha Particle X-Ray Spectrometer (APXS): for close-up analysis of the abundances of elements that make up rocks and soils.

  • Magnets: for collecting magnetic dust particles. The Mössbauer Spectrometer and the Alpha Particle X-ray Spectrometer are designed to analyze the particles collected and help determine the ratio of magnetic particles to non-magnetic particles. They can also analyze the composition of magnetic minerals in airborne dust and rocks that have been ground by the Rock Abrasion Tool.

  • Microscopic Imager (MI): for obtaining close-up, high-resolution images of rocks and soils.

  • Rock Abrasion Tool (RAT): for removing dusty and weathered rock surfaces and exposing fresh material for examination by instruments onboard.

Before landing, the goal for each rover was to drive up to 40 meters (about 44 yards) in a single day, for a total of up to one 1 kilometer (about three-quarters of a mile). Both goals have been far exceeded! Where are the rovers now?

Moving from place to place, the rovers perform on-site geological investigations. Each rover is sort of the mechanical equivalent of a geologist walking the surface of Mars. The mast-mounted cameras are mounted 1.5 meters(5 feet) high and provide 360-degree, stereoscopic, humanlike views of the terrain. The robotic arm is capable of movement in much the same way as a human arm with an elbow and wrist, and can place instruments directly up against rock and soil targets of interest. In the mechanical "fist" of the arm is a microscopic camera that serves the same purpose as a geologist's handheld magnifying lens. The Rock Abrasion Tool serves the purpose of a geologist's rock hammer to expose the insides of rocks.

persembahan pelajar SAS sblm talk bermula

Dr.William ni mgunakan American Eng so tak susah utk faham. body language dia pun blh tahan hehe.. kira berjaya utk menarik org dgr apa yg dia nak sampaikan. ada ketika nya, sy teringat subjek geofizik yg sy bljr masa buat degree dulu. soil-materials-etc etc...emmm dunia science mmg indah!!

base on this photo, i realized that i really need new camera.
canon s95 and panasonic lumix lx5, this two compact camera with dslr quality photo dah jd aim terdekat sy hehe...before raya mesti dptkan jugak one of this hot gadjet, insyaallah...
